Our “Definition of prospect

The NHL is an arduous test in which only those able to constantly survive the mental and physical rigours of this finest of machines can truly succeed in first breaking into and then performing, as one of the truly elite among the best playing the game.

At Chiller Instinct, we provide our annual listing of 30 players that have the tools and are peering through a window of opportunity at making an impact on a National Hockey League franchise this season. We strive to bring our readers the best collaborative and time sensitive piece leading into the NHL regular season.

Last year’s 2009-2010 report included the stellar efforts of players like Claude Giroux, Jamie Benn, Tuukka Rask, Michael Del Zotto, Evander Kane, Victor Hedman, Niklas Hjalmarsson, and John Tavares. The players combined for an astounding 1664 games played (55.4 average), 226 goals (8.4 average), and 597 points (22.1 average). We do not focus entirely on point production, but take into consideration all aspects of the team environment and circumstance involved.
